Real-time quota tracking
Message counts, AI tokens, and active conversations tracked in real time. Tenants can see their current usage against plan limits at any moment.
Overage billing
When a tenant exceeds their plan quota, per-message overage fees are billed automatically via Stripe metered billing. No manual intervention needed.
Usage alerts
Configurable alerts at 70%, 90%, and 100% of quota. Email and in-app notifications so tenants are never surprised by an overage charge.
Plan management
Upgrade, downgrade, and cancel from the dashboard. Proration calculated automatically. Plan changes take effect immediately.
Technical implementation
Stripe integration
Subscriptions, invoices, payment methods, and metered usage are all managed via Stripe. Webhook events from Stripe trigger plan state updates in real time.
Quota enforcement middleware
Every AI message request passes through a quota-check middleware. If the tenant is at 100% of their quota with no overage billing enabled, the request is blocked and the sender is notified.
Metered usage
Message counts are reported to Stripe as metered usage items. Overage amounts appear as line items on the monthly invoice — fully transparent to the tenant.
